You may remember a year or so back I was experimenting with some lava or volcanic glaze tests. Well it takes ages to get anything done, but I packed a kiln load of tests and hey presto-...the kiln mis fired! It's an on going fault...but it went up to 1170 degrees c instead of 1240.
I've unpacked the kiln and restarted it. Not before I took out these interesting tiles. So far I've only ever achieved a tin white in a lava or crater style. I'm pretty pleased with these and also the crawl style effect. This could open new possibilities for me and my work, so I am pretty pleased and a bit excited. 1170 may be the way to go...
