I was very surprised to see one of my "Pisces" vessels crop up in a recent edition of "Harper's Bazaar"  magazine. This was of course the Indian edition, where my work as you probably know by now, (as I've been going on about nothing else for two years !) is being marketed by the design firm  Curocarte.  I have to say this  was rather a pleasant surprise. Ok, that's enough self publicity...back to the pots then...!

I was "bowled" over, excuse the pun, to find out from a friend that I was featured on Sony Liv TV in India! The programme is called "House Proud" , it's a kind of home shopping  show, come "Changing Rooms."  About ten minutes in , they feature one of my Raku teabowls, and a tapered raku bowl also makes a fleeting appearance. Nice to be featured, thank you Curocarte , thank-you Sony Liv. It's a funny old world, I may never have seen this, so it was a nice surprise. (By the way sadly I do not hail from Japan!) It's taken longer than I'd hoped but this years' first batch of  making is coming to an end, ready for the really exciting bit , doing the firings! What with colds, flu, a dodgy, back , whiplash from a neck injury...it's been a funny old year so far. Progress has been slower than I'd have liked but there you go, I am still standing. Meanwhile lots of stuff has been happening in India. The film is courtesy of Elle Decor India's Instagram feed, and is from the Curocarte stand at the India Id design fest in February. Meanwhile back in the UK, I am hoping to resupply some galleries over the Spring and Summer period.

I've nearly finished renovating my workshed, so I am almost ready to resume working and about time. I am getting itchy fingers for the clay!  Meanwhile I've been having a studio sale of some good quality seconds....new work uploaded to Rippingham Art Online , and delivered work to Buckenham Galleries.  Just because I can I thought you might like a glimpse of some of the promotional imagery being used at Curocarte.  The magazine image is of course, GQ . Still can't quite believe it, but I am making the most of it  as they say! Well the dust has settled now and I can tell you about a lovely opportunity  to team up with Mumbai based company, CuroCarte. Founded   by Ananya Birla , Curocarte aims to source work by artisans from around the world to showcase their talents in an online design/retail website. From what I gather it is mainly aimed at the emerging Indian market and all I can say is that I am "chuffed" with the link up. I was visited by Pragya Awashthi who   came direct from Mumbai to my studio and workshop. I cannot praise Pragya enough and the founding principles of the company, the website is now live and you can judge for yourself. I have to keep pinching myself that this actually just happened.
